my life

Hi there,
I haven’t
really written down my thoughts since the year began. 2026 has been… something
else, not just for me but for a lot of people, I think. There’s so much going
on in the world, and at the same time, so much happening in my own life.
Lately, I just haven’t had the energy or even the desire to sit down and
process everything. I feel lazy sometimes, but honestly, it’s more like I’m
just not in the right headspace to do anything at all.
Right now, my
life feels like a mix of so many emotions that I can’t even properly name or
sort out. It’s overwhelming. I don’t know what I’m supposed to feel or how I’m
supposed to react most days. But if there’s one thing I’m sure of, it’s this
constant feeling of frustration and disappointment especially when it comes to
my family.
It’s hard to
admit, but it feels like I failed, and in some way, we all failed as a family.
Even writing that down makes me cringe. Thinking about it too much just makes
it worse, but it’s the truth I keep coming back to. As the eldest, I carry this
weight, and one of the things that hurts me the most is my brother.
I’ve already
expressed how disappointed I am, but the feeling doesn’t go away. I don’t
understand how he became the person he is now, the way he thinks, the way he
talks, and how he treats everyone at home. It feels like he lacks empathy,
understanding, and even basic respect. Seeing how he treats our siblings, how
he treats me… it really gets to me. It’s painful and honestly exhausting.
I keep asking
myself what went wrong, what’s going on in his mind, and why he sees things the
way he does. Every argument, every conversation just ends up reinforcing this
feeling that he sees himself as the victim in all of this family drama. And I
don’t understand that at all. He’s in a position where he doesn’t have the same
responsibilities as the rest of us, he’s free to focus on himself, yet he still
feels alone.
That’s the
part that confuses me the most. How can someone feel so alone when they’re not
actually alone? When there are people around who still care, who are still
trying?
And I feel
like he’s become overly insensitive to our situation. Our house isn’t exactly
an ideal place to live in. it’s small, cluttered, and honestly, there’s barely
any space to properly rest. Even when I came back home from overseas, I
struggled to adjust, but I tried to understand because… what else can I really
do?
But him, it’s
like he just does whatever he wants without thinking about anyone else. He
decided to create his own small room for himself, carving out space as if he’s
the only one who needs it, while everyone else is still struggling. What hurts
me the most is seeing my sister, she’s been dealing with such a terrible
sleeping situation, yet it feels like she’s the one being overlooked.
And then
there’s my mom. The way she treats him compared to my sister and even to me it’s
hard not to notice the difference. It feels unfair. It feels like no matter
what I do, even if I’m the one trying to provide and hold things together, I
don’t really have a voice in that house. Like my words don’t carry any weight.
No one really listens. Sometimes it feels like my mom chooses not to see what’s
happening, like she’s just… tone-deaf to it all.
And I hate to
admit it, but I’ve been feeling envious. I wish I had a better place to come
home to, my own space, my own house, somewhere I can just breathe and feel at
peace. But what can I do when I don’t have the means yet? That thought alone is
frustrating. It makes me question myself, makes me feel like maybe I’m not
capable of achieving the things that some of my peers already have.
And that
feeling… it just sits with me.
Imagine this I’ve
been working overseas for nearly 13 years now. And yes, my life has definitely
changed for the better compared to before. I’ve grown, I’ve experienced things
I never thought I would, and I’ve been able to provide in ways I once couldn’t.
But at the
same time, there are parts of my life that haven’t changed at all. And that’s
the part that feels so strange to me.
At this point
in my life, all I really want is something better, something more stable, more
peaceful. I’ve been thinking, planning, hoping that eventually I’ll get there.
I understand that life isn’t the same for everyone, and we all move at
different paces. Not everyone’s story turns out the same way, just like mine
didn’t.
But I can’t
help feeling that it’s unfair sometimes especially when it comes to my family.
That feeling
just keeps growing. It’s like no matter how much I’ve sacrificed, how many
years I’ve spent away, how much effort I’ve put in… it still doesn’t feel like
it’s enough. And maybe what hurts the most is that people don’t even try to see
it from my perspective. They don’t see the weight of it, the things I had to
give up, or the reasons behind everything I do.
It’s
exhausting, carrying all of that and still feeling unseen.
And I think
that’s what really gets to me not just the situation itself, but the feeling
that everything I’ve done is somehow invisible.
I have so
many things I want to say so much frustration built up inside me. But at the
same time, I don’t always want to think about it too much. Still, my mind keeps
going back to these, same thoughts and situations, over and over again, and it
just makes me feel sad.
Social media
doesn’t help either. If anything, it makes everything feel worse. I end up
comparing, overthinking, and feeling even more down. I know I shouldn’t let it
affect me like that, and part of me tries not to but even when my heart wants
to ignore it, my mind just won’t stop going there.
And that’s
the exhausting part… not being able to turn it off.

Sad headspace

Right after getting the results, I was still stuck in that
frustrating and sad headspace when I got home. Now, there's this whole bunch of
issues hitting me – family stuff, our living situation, housing matters – it's
like a pile of problems on my shoulders that I need to figure out. And
honestly, it's making me feel pretty alone in all of this. The part that hurts
the most? My brother. I had hoped he'd be my support, helping me lift our
family up, but he's just turning out to be a big letdown.
To be fair, I consider myself fortunate to have siblings
who've always been respectful towards me. While there haven't been any major
issues caused by them, it's a reality check that no family is perfect,
including mine. We all have our share of shortcomings, and that's perfectly
okay.
I must admit, there's a bit of disappointment when it comes
to my brother. Maybe I set my expectations too high for him. I've been rooting
for him, believing that as the man in the family, he would take charge,
especially since I'm miles away. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case. He's
let me down as his elder, contrary to the faith I had in him. All I've ever
wanted for our lives is success and an improvement in our life status after
completing our education. Or at least, that's what I thought.
The source of my frustration came from the mistaken belief
that he had already finished his academic journey and obtained a diploma. It
turns out, he didn't complete his on-the-job training on the ship, preventing
him from getting the diploma, and that's the saddest part.
During our conversation, he was all nonchalant, saying he
doesn't need the diploma and trying to convince me it's no big deal because his
course doesn't lead to much in other careers. The whole conversation got confusing,
he was gaslighting me and making me feel like I didn't get it.
All I was trying to convey was the importance of having the
diploma. I'm not forcing him to pursue a specific industry. I'm just
emphasizing that having a degree opens up various possibilities. I'd be more
than happy for him to follow any path he wants, as long as he holds that
degree. Unfortunately, he's not getting it.
This situation has left me upset and saddened as his
brother. I only want the best for him. Does he think being an undergrad will
make his life easier? He's too young to realize that having a diploma is
crucial for securing a good job. Even those who graduated and possess diplomas
face challenges in the job market, let alone those without one.
When he mentioned choosing his course to be considerate
about expenses, it felt like a way of gaslighting my frustration. As far as I
know, no one forced him into that course, and he doesn't have a valid reason to
blame any of us. It was his choice, and he needs to take responsibility for it.
He's kinda self-centered, thinking he's the big shot head of
the family. But truth be told, he doesn't give a hoot about our mom. All he did
was slap together this little room for himself at home, without realizing our
place is already as cramped as it gets. It never occurred to him that it made
the rest of us sharing the same roof uncomfortable in our limited space back
home. He's just plain selfish. I can't help but feel sorry for Mom and Tin,
they're trying to squeeze into that tiny space to sleep and struggling to find
a spot to rest. Witnessing them in this situation makes me realize how our life
has ended up like this.
How did my brother turn out to be so thoughtless? I can't
stand the words that come out of his mouth when he talks to his sisters. I hope
our conversation made a difference since I had the chance to talk to him before
I left.

yes! my sister is pregnant :| that is mixed emotions. I don't know if right to feel angry or upsets because of that. but seriously i'm really happy because of this little angel. :) well my sister is indeed a black sheep of our family but I know there is something that she can learned for this.
being a parent isn't easy as we think. and I believed that she would realized it now. and for me as "kuya" I realized that how hard to being part of this situation and being responsible for everything. teaching and reminding them for do's and don'ts regarding starting building a family. now i'm being matured enough facing every challenges.
and looking forward for good and peaceful family with them.
goodvibes and praying to settle everything.

i'm so devastated about my sister. she's been out of her mind. i dunno how to handle it.
~bilang kuya nahihirapan ako sa mga bagay bagay na ginagawa nya :(
a feud within this family gives me a heartbreak and continuing thinking about life..is like falling from above and no one else whose willing to catch me..
i'm tired about everything i had my own issues about life and then issues about family? this is really unfair. nakakapagod, nakakabobo, nakakahiya, at nakakalungkot. i'm always feel down, but sometimes i'm trying to believed myself that i'm okay even though i'm still hurting inside. nakakainis!
as much i want to feel happy pero mahirap.. iniiwan, nasasaktan at paulit ulit..
giving a chance to running out of this life, i mean this situation.. i would! but for sure, after escaping this life and waking up from dreammm. i need to face it again the reality. bad thing about escaping..
hay, i dont know where i need to put my self.
mukha man ako masaya, ang di lang alam ng iba may pinagdadaanan din ako..
i dont know if it need to share this. but i need an outlet to express what i feel. nakakabaliw kasi ee.

happy mother's day nanay :) and to all moms out there.
seriously this is really corny for me. di kasi ako showy and being vocal about how important my family is. which is not good :( pero ganoon ako. well given na yun na mahal mo ang pamilya mo/ko. di ko lang masabi :D
anyway. my life won't be easy without my mom. :) a lot of courage being a single parent and raised us alone. kahit may mga taong di makaintindi at mga taong walang magawa sa buhay para lang pahirapan kami (kapit bisig lang). we love her no matter what, kahit nagger and moody lang. at kadalasang nag-ddrama sa buhay. but still we're grateful. (ganoon lang ang anak! pasaway hahaha )

lolo and lola's memories

November 1 is all saint's day. as our traditions, this is the day that we visit lolo and lola's tomb in Holy cross cemetery Novaliches. well nice weather to go to cemetery. much better than to have rains that day. as usual, high sunshine and a heavy traffic is the only problem. like u wanna fade in the middle of the streets because of the hot steam coming from the ground and polluted air. darnn**
well i'm with my two siblings (tintin and tongtong) and we meet duday along the area. haha she's been part of my family for a year (one of my best friend) and then we go together to meet my relatives there waiting for us. :) tito nilo, tita violy, ninang, ninong, john paul and tito jun and alex are already there. well nice reunion after all. like tito jun. he's been newly arrived from saudi. they're chatting all day.
me and duday are also chatting all day. we just talked about our lives and future plans hehe as usual we also talked about her love life. sometimes i don't get her. she's been in a complicated relationship for almost a year. no matter what, that is her choice. is just being redundant about complaining about her situation right now. after all there's no any changes after i give her advice. useless**
well i can't blame her. you cannot choose what situation you really want when it comes in love. i should know more this. love is always mysterious.
